How Can I Stop Neighbours Cats Terrorising Piggys

Exactly what are the cats doing to upset the piggies? We have a few cats in the area and none of them terrorise my pigs although it may be that Priya sees off any cats who go near her guinea pigs. Priya is very protective of the guinea pigs. I am feeling rather upset though about people spraying cats as Priya recently came home with some bleached fur, and I am really concerned that someone has sprayed her with bleach. If I find out who has done it, I will report them to the police and RSPCA as they could've harmed her very badly.
Like I said earlier my dad ran the local cat rescue B.A.R.K.S, from his home for 15-20yrs until he died. I also have had someone cover my old cat in hot cooking oil. No way am I going to hurt a animal.
The cats try to dig under the run and run and pounce on and at run, storking and clawing at piggy's too . As I have had cats most of my life I know they are independent but I would like to stop one of said cat coming in my home and pooing in my kitchen. X

So sweet. Your piggy looks just like my boy Albie in my avatar. Albie trys to play with Douglas's tail when he's laying down and he's wagging it. And Albie ways coming over to see Douglas. But he doesn't like it when the dog gives him a like, well I don't think he does. He runs away but come right back to him, so I not so sure.

I would never ever dream of squirting anything but water, we have a cat of our own but he never bothers them, I have seen off intruders purely with water, it doesn't need anything else. Plus the invaders also attack our cat, he can't put up much of a fight as he only has one front leg. :(

We have a cat problem too... She's called Molly and likes to sit on the fence and poop in the garden...
Also see her watching from the bedroom window.

Currently we shoo her away which does the trick but I've been told something called 'silent roar' is pretty effective. It's like compost which has been soaked in lion poop. It's apparently really good.

Only issue I have... Would it effect the piggies, but half the time they are pretty oblivious to what's going on around them... Can't hurt but to try :)

Cats can be a pain. I think we're one of the few houses on our estate that doesn't own at least one cat and our back garden was seen as territory to be fought over/a great place to toilet.

My husband spent one summer deterring most of the creatures from visiting again with a rinsed out washing up liquid bottle full of water. We then got some new neighbours whose little female feline has adopted our garden as part of her territory and she now keeps most of the other visitors away. She liked watching my old boys, and spent hours nose to nose through the wire with Mycroft - but never seemed to bother stalking them or attacking the run in any way so we've let her be in order to keep most of the others out of the garden. She'd stop by a couple of times a day, almost as if she were 'reporting in' to them on all the local animal gossip.

We still have problems with a large ginger individual who likes to use our garden as a toilet. That's a right pain. I've had to put grids, netting and sticks into every space cm of soil. I'm not exaggerating - I once caught it balancing on the edge of a plant pot cr*pping on a single strawberry plant. We've tried scattering half lemons round the containers, but they just attracted the slugs. Will have to look into lion dung.

Debbie this is terrible but I am hoping nothing was done to her in malice. Most cats love the smell of bleach. When I clean the bathroom with it Gingerbread starts purring and rolling around on the carpet and wants his tummy massaged. It could be that someone had scrubbed their patio with it and before it was rinsed off Priya came along and had a little roll in it. Not ideal of course but better than having nasty neighbours :)

I wouldn't use sonic repellent devices near the guineas because it's likely to be in their range of hearing and on the principle that it deters animals it can't be good for them to have to listen to it. I can hear the rodent ones and wouldn't like to have to listen to it all day!

I've just noticed this post and agree with @Hermes . We had the sonic repellents but have turned them off since we got our guinea pigs. I had mixed feelings an=bout how well they worked anyway. Maybe the cats in our area are deaf.
