Someone I know who has piggies yesterday put them outside in the sun! With no shade! And she said she only left them out for 40mins and came back to them and they were dead! Makes me so mad how people can be so stupid and don't think about how the sun will effect them! Rant over!

Omg :o how awful poor piggies :0 mine are in their run now with a fleece providing shade and I keep popping out to spray them with cool water (with a spray bottle)

i put 2 of my piggies outside yesterday but waited til 7 when it was cooler and gave them shade.

God i sat outside yesterday and there was no breeze, it was baking hot, i felt so thankful my piggies are indoors and are never at risk.

When mine are out on the grass i watch the constantly and spray them with water, make sure they have shade to lay in and a water bottle.

Yesterday mine had a huge parasol, wet towels ( being rewet when they dried out) over the run, log tunnels, water melon and me annoying them with a spray, lightly misting their run every so often.

Oh, and annoying them even more by checking their ears sporadically to make sure they weren't getting too hot.

That's so sad. I put my piggie's run in the shade of the trees with their own parasol as well and keep moving it during the day, they also have their log tunnels etc. Buzzy has been known to lay his boy bits on the slices of cucumber!
That's a good idea to have wet towels and water sprays though, I'll try that.

Oh how sad, those poor guinea pigs. I always have a sheet on top even if it's cloudy because the weather can change so fast as I live on an Island. So sad.

Well if she tries thru a rescue they'll at least give her lodgings a once over and get her to answer lots of questions on where they'll be kept, food etc.. i really hope she's learnt tho..... :...
