How can you tell a boar is impacted?

Hi love, from my limited experience you can tell by the size of the poops, they're smaller, and then you notice that they having a few problems.......then when you pick them up their little bottoms are quite swollen
You need to be careful and extract them carefully, it's not pleasant but it's such a relief for them!
Usually it's in older piggies, but i think i remember someone elses piggie had problems after his 'operation' and was a bit impacted :{
If you do a search you will find there's been some previous cases, would be interesting for you to read them
Hope the boys don't become impacted, all paws crossed here xx>>>xx>>>xx>>>xx>>>

Thats great, thanks,

they are both checked regularly - but are middle aged piggies, so aiming to find out about these older piggy probs before they become serious

The easiest way to tell is if it feels like they've got a marble (sometime a biiig one) stuck up their anal sack! That's the best way I know to descrbe how it felt the first time I came across it. It all gets a bit stinky after that, but once you've emptied it a few times you get very quick at it and the smell does dissipate quite quickly and the boys that I've dealt with take it in their stride and just put up with the indignity.

With my old chappy Sylvester, the vet told me I would have to help him out regarding toilet time/impactation.
Just have a look at his bottom, you may have to open it up a bit. You'll basically see it. And you just have to squeeze it out and then wipe their bottom.
Not a fun job to have! But it helped the poor guy out bless him.

:... sounds like a stinky job

but it doesn't sound too complicated to spot and sort out. Thanks for all the advice :)p
