How can you tell if a guinea pig is in pain?

Unfortunately I think they hide pain very well :( If they are very ill though they tend to be "fluffed" up with their fur & will sit listlessly staring into a corner, that's my experience of a very poorly pig anyway :(

Fluffed up is a sign of illness or depression if they've just lost their mate. Going off their food aswell. They are very good at hiding illness so the first way you can spot a health problem is often by them loosing weight which is why it's important to weigh them weekly.
