well I do realise one has a penis lol but I was chatting to a friend who was saying they are very different behavious wise.... Are they? and in what way?

My boys are very sweet and love a good old cuddle! they sit for ages being smoothed and pampered. they are very laid back and easy going. they had a bit of a rough patch between them a few weeks back but seem to have settled back into enjoying each others company again (sorted ranking I believe)

What are girls like?

I'm not getting any more piggies until I know the situation with my daughter (suspected allergy) but I would love some girls if we find out she isnt allergic

i think it just depends on the individual piggy rather than sex. I have 5 boys and 3 girls. One of my girls, Meg ,acts like my boars whereas the other 2 girls are alot more shy than my other boars. I just think it depends. Someone else will probably know more than me who have had more piggies :)

I only have boys myself, so can't really commment, but I too would be very interested to hear of the differences between sows and boars, very good question! x

It definitely depends on the pig, but I have boars and sows and I would say that my boars are more relaxed and more friendly than my sows.
Saying that though one of my sows is the most friendly pig I have ever owned!:)

Going on experience boars seem to be less skittish aswell (Only going by the boars/sows I have owed).

Tough question but I think each piggie will be different whether it be a sow or boar.

Difficult one!
Owning both boars and sows, I would probably say that boars in general are a little more brave, with sows being more cautious.
But again it just depends on individual personalities, I guess.

I always said it depends on the pig, and I stick by that as it is true - individual personalities play more of a part than gender. However...

My girls are pretty much all stroppy, moody, independent, feisty madams. Oh, and high-maintenance.
My boys have been little lovebugs and such friendly, people pigs. They love/d nothing more than a good old fuss and kisses. Not so much for my new boy, but then he has only been here 2 weeks, and he does enjoy being fussed when held.

Overall though, the boys lap up the attention, the girls don't wanna know unless they want attention.

Completely agree with all previous posts, generally boars are more accepting of our attentions but one of my six sows is the exception to this and will actually walk onto an upturned hand for a fuss. As for the way they interact with each other sows can be stroppy and fall out just like boars do - The only blood shed I've ever seen here was between two sows
