How do everyone carry your piggies?

Hello everyone,

Just a general question I'd like to ask about the best way to carry guinea pigs.
Yesterday, my piggy jumped out of my arms all the sudden when I was carrying
him from one room to another. Thankfully it wasn't so high and he didn't hurt himself apart from
tiny swelling on his nose. But it could have been worse and I really hated myself for being so
careless. I have read how to cuddle, hold or carry them and I think I was doing right but
he's 6 months old (means I am 6month old beginner piggy owner) and full of energy.
I wonder if there is any tip for "the safest way to carry", or the way piggies feel
the safest. Sorry for the stupid question, but I am quite new in having guinea pig and
I never ever want that to happen again.
Please let me know if anyone has advice!

when I'm carrying mine around i put one hand under the bum, and across their back so they are supported underneath and so they cant fall backwards, some piggies are very wriggly and mine have jumped out of my arms before today! maybe with the wrigglers if you wrap them in a blanket when your moving around, might help you carry them more easily :)

me (not facing front) must be the key. :)
My "little prince" is getting bigger now so I will be extra careful in future!
 
My 2 are very wriggly and I just make sure I have a firm grip of them around under the front legs and have them facing you with the other on there bum. Seems to work tho when popping them back into the cage they always try and jump as well so again just nice and firm x
 
Carry them in a carrier case or hold them in between my arms holding tightly but not too tight where the piggy cant breathe ;D
 
One of mine is a right wee wriggler and she's fallen a couple of times - luckily she's never been hurt. I sometimes carry her about in one of their cardboard tunnels - it means she's less stressed as well. She goes in the tunnel no problem.

some of mine i can carry aroind like you carry a baby round but the ones what wriggle i keep them close to me and in a postion where there cant wriggle out
 
For sure they are much more comfortable snuggled up close against you, than either hanging out in the open or facing away from you. O0
 
I have found that with Mr Bumble the easy way to carry him is to put him in the plastic linen basket, so he can not just as he wriggles a lot. the rest I carry with right had on bum and left hand on their back with them up against my body with them facing me.
 
A popular way of carrying pigs is to have tummy resting on your hand (their head facing you) and .... this is the important bit…… their back legs dangling either side of your hand. Then they can’t jump off your hand or run up your arm because they have nothing to push off with as their back legs are not resting on anything. They soon get used to being carried that way.
