How do I get my guinea pig to use its tunnel

Hi everyone I purchased a male guinea pig over a year old a few months ago and he was in such a bad condition he had bumble foot and blocked tear ducket
so I bought him and nursed him back to health he has never had chew toys or tunnels or any toys and I Wanted him to have fun in his new home so I bought him chew tunnels and chew toys he uses the chew toys but not the tunnel and ideas on how to get him to use it I used food it get him into the tunnel that worked but he only uses it when I use food I want him to go through it and chew it and have fun with it with out food

Aww poor little piggy! I am really glad you have nursed him back to health and he is doing well :-)

Um, I guess you could put a tunnel inbetween two things he likes, say inbetween his hay rack and sleeping quarters, or inbetween his hay rack and food bowl?

These are things he might naturally want to go to and from anyway so he may use the tunnel if you position it in such a place?

You could try different type of tunnels too, our piggies like the cardboard ones but there are all sorts out there in different sizes and textures :-)
