How do I keep my guinea pits half eaten cucumber good and not spoil?

I cut a few slices off my cucumber for the piggies and keep the remaining cucumber part in the fridge, in a bag usually.
Sometimes if I think the end is a bit dry when I get it out I slice a thin bit off the end and throw it out so the inside bit is fresher for the piggies,

My girls go through a cucumber in roughly a week and it stays fine just in the fridge. I also cut the dried bit off each time.

i cover the top of cucumber in cling film , then it does nt go dry, sure the piggies would nt turn up their noses to it anyway!
