How do I tame my piggy

D

DM150820

I’ve had her for 5 days and she’s eating from my hand and she trust me but dose that mean she is tamed

Eating out of your hand means she trusts you. With regards taming it depends what exactly you mean by that. You have to remember they are prey animals and that instinct is still in them. It’s best to go at her pace rather than forcing her to act in a way she doesn’t want to.

She may not every get used to being picked up (a lot don’t), or enjoy lap time. If she does that is a bonus. But as said, you go by what she likes rather than how you think she should behave.

As for nipping, they explore with their mouths. what is it she biting/nibbling? If your fingers it may be they smell of food.

Ok she loves sitting on my lap like she does it all day sometime bc she doesn’t wanna do anything els is that bad

Hi! :)
Is your piggy a single pig? Guinea pigs are highly social animals, so her lack of activity may be caused by the fact that she does not have a companion. No amount of human interaction can replace the bonds guinea pigs form with one another. I will link two guides below; one that details the importance of companionship, and one that lists recommended piggy rescues.

Companionship
P.S.
Keeping her on your lap for the entire day is not a good idea. Guinea pigs should have 24/7 access to unlimited hay and water. Lap time should be limited for this reason.
I hope that this helps! :)

Mo & Stubbins & Vani is right guinea pigs are pack animals, they like to be able to chatter and play, and get depressed and lonely when they don't have in piggy friends. I don't mean to be rude. And rescuing a guinea pig is the best option cause you can save a guinea piggles life at the same time!

As I have said to you on your other threads, being alone isn’t good for her. She won’t do anything else if she doesn’t have another piggy to play with. No amount of human interaction will ever be enough and at two months old, she is far too young to be alone, she is missing out on essential socialisation that young piggies need.
Siting on your lap all day - as mentioned above, she must have constant access to hay so she shouldn’t be on your lap for long as otherwise she won’t be eating enough throughout the day. Sometimes the piggies who sit still and don’t struggle to get away can be the most scared. They don’t move because of fear. Also though as I’ve said, as she doesn’t have a friend, she doesn’t have anything else to do.
If she is eating out of your hand then she does trust you.

Hi and welcome

If your piggy is eating from your hand, it means that she has started to trust you and that you can move on to picking her up and starting lap time.
