How do I trim my piggies’ nails

Hi Guinea pig lovers
I have two lovely sows but they have started to bite me when I try to trim their nails on their front paws. Any ideas how I can do it without getting bitten?

cheeky monkeys! id probably say veggies to try and keep them still / distracted while you try to trim their nails. if you’re really struggling i’m pretty sure most vets will offer it as a service and i’ve also found a guineapig/rabbit groomer in my area who also trims nails so have a look on facebook and things you might have one close to you too!

Sometimes it's helpful to clip a nail here and a nail there rather than doing a whole foot of nails at a time, if you haven't tried that already ... so whatever toe presents itself, clip that one, and get back to difficult to get to nails when they become more available, or do them last, so at least you've finished the rest before the piggies are bothered and nippy.
