Do I just put it on the floor as I would with sawdust etc, or is there a different way?

Thanks x

I think you just put it in the same as you would shavings, though i would imagine you would have to line the cage with newspaper 1st?

Thanks, I use newspaper atm, but I'm going to put down a disposable changing mat too with it, as it's waterproof and will last that bit longer.x

Sounds like a plan. How much carefresh do you get and at what cost? Never though of using it.

As far as i know the prices are the same in the shop. My cage would probably hold 3/4 of that bag.

I'm off to Pets At Home in a little bit to buy some.
On the net they sell it for £4.99 for 14 litre? So I'm guessing the shop price will be the same?

That's a really good buy, they have 60L too for £19.99. Have never tried Carefresh but could be persuaded as I like to experiment rolleyes
Hmm, only problem is at P@H is the little furries they sell - the one near my home is lovely and the pets are very well cared for, live in huge enclosures but I still get broody seeing them so try to avoid going in :{

Haha, you can get it in 60 litre aswell.
I'm just going to give it a try.
Upto now I've hated sawdust/shavings, the fleece hasn't really worked out for me, and I have him on newspaper and the changing mat atm, and he's chewed through it - naughty boy :))
I'll let you know how I get on haha x

I'm the same, especially since I had to let my 3 boys go. I have Damon and everytime I go in I get 1 step closer to getting myself a new one, but no! Haha.
Atleast not until I've gotten myself settled.

The pets at home near me is lovely too, and the workers know what they're doing. I speak to one of the lads that works there now and then and he has guineas himself, plus another lady in there has a million and one animals :P

megazorb is good and if you can find a stockist locally it is far cheaper than carefresh it's about £7-8 for a huge sack which i think is about 80/85 litres!

i've used them with my piggies before.... and watch out because a couple of mine fancied eating them... and obv. this isnt good... :)

I bought this and tried it.
Loved it, it doesn't smell and looks cool.
They sell it in different colours too! (Atleast in Pets At Home they do) for an extra £1, I just bought the typical brown one though.
Only problem is that it lasted me 2 cage cleans and that's kinda expensive for £4.99 a bag (14L)
Just thought I'd let you know my thoughts :))

it was a negative for me - it stayed soggy and its very high maintenance and expensive. Also piggies like eating it. :(

I stick to towels and blankets changing daily put them on 90c wash in washing machine 8)

I found a 60L pack in a shop for £15 so bought it but two of my piggies thought it was clever to have a good old munch on it :{ Only used it in their litter trays but found it made a mess everywhere else rolleyes

guinea pig ate carefresh

So I don't use Carefresh anymore because I caught my guinea pig eating White Carefresh. she had a piece in her hand and wolfed it down before i could pry it out of her. i was terrified to use it again...and switched to fleece, which does seem to be cheaper and she doesn't eat.

I've used carefresh before I moved to fleece. I didn't put anything under it, so I would use it the same as any other bedding.

Now they use it for there litter box.
