How Do People Manage Pets When Living Alone?

I have heard of some nurses taking on piggies to look after. Yeah I'm lucky that my vet is very experienced with pigs and also is only 2 minutes from my house. He gave me the number of a woman he knows who is obsessed with guinea pigs, has loads herself and takes in rescues/boarding. Handy to know she's not too far away
That's great. I wish
my exotics vet was so close. It's only half an hr away and open every day so I can't complain.

Yeah saves on OOH bills I suppose. That's my only complaint about my vets, they shut early on Saturdays and closed Sundays :td:

Our place is really strict about absence so couldn't ring in sick more than about twice a year and the vet I used was well over an hour away so I couldn't drop them in on the way to work and to be honest I've lost faith in that vet now anyway. Apparently there is an exotics vet in the vets 4 pets right by where I work but I know vets 4 pets don't have the best reputation. I really can't see a way of having pigs again without a huge windfall so that I can go part time and it makes me so sad. I miss my boys so much.
