So, how does everyone feed their peppers? I currently cut out the heart, seeds, stalk etc and give them the rest. Is it safe to feed them the seeds etc? Does anyone do this?

I just give them the pepper part (without stalk) as if it were from a salad. I wouldn't personally risk feeding the seeds, due to risk of choking.

Yeah, that's what I thought too, but on other groups on Facebook I've seen so many feeding them all in one!

Oh no, of course not, but you have to questions things no matter where you get the information from.

I just cut them off the colourful outside bits and bin the seeds and bit in the middle of the pepper. I figured if I didnt wanna eat the middle or the seeds, then probably neither would she :D

I wouldn't recommend feeding the seeds, but I know at least one very experienced piggy person who is feeding the rest, as far as I know without any ill effect. I am currently still sitting on the fence on this one to see whether there are any long term issues.

There are certainly no short-term issues or any reason to panic if a piggy eats some seeds or a bit stalk.

So many tips or warnings have turned out to be just a myth over the years when it comes to food. All you can do is try to slowly work your way through them to separate the wheat from the chaff. :(

Thank you everyone. I was intrigued as I always thought it wasn't a good idea to feed seeds, but lately i've seen so many people doing so that I thought I'd clarify. I'm glad I do the same as everyone else and just cut out the good bits.

I wish my piggies liked pepper :-( might have to try them with different colours I.e yellow or green as they turn their noses up at red pepper

I take the middle bit out and the stalk and chop the rest up. I have also seen on FB that people feed seeds. Someone said to me 'piggies have good teeth, they can eat the seeds' but I have never and will never feed them!
