How Do You Feel About Your Pictures Being Taken?

This is just something that I've kind of been thinking about. As I see pictures of my Guinea Pigs taken and being re-posted all over Pinterest and Tumblr....and who knows where else. I also have seen a few pictures of Guinea Pigs I know from here, including the adoptable Hector and Henry! Is this something you're okay with? Or is this something where you'd like to be informed and have them be removed? Right now, I've found that I don't mind, as long as I'm given credit (which is usually a link to my Flickr). But, in the future when I purchase a very expensive camera, and turn my photography into my career, this is something I can't see myself being as okay with - as if mine are being used by others, even with a simple repost, I'd at least like to be asked as it's taking a part of my business, if you get me?

This is a very good point - but I hope you don't put people off posting pictures as I love seeing them.

Oh yes, I'd hope it wouldn't. It's just one of those things. I don't believe, unless they take them per use in sales or where they take credit, that it's something they want to do to be rude, and they just like your pictures - but I think with all the social media sites, and people wanting popularity from cute pictures, that people just don't seem to ask permission anymore.
