Just wondering, if they weren't eating enough would you be able to tell from their poop? I'm always paranoid mine don't eat enough...

I just give them plenty of hay and if they have eaten it all by the morning then I try to add a bit more in, like is a stuffed toilet roll as there was this morning (I just had the hay rack and spare hayrack/muzzle yesterday stuffed with hay and they had eaten all out the hay rack so have put in two toilet rolls for them), I just gauge it by that.

I think the solidness of the poop can be change by the fresh foods not the hay, too much rich foods will make mine a little loose, the hay is always the food that they absolutely have to have which is why I make sure they just have more than enough.

At the mo they have a corner tray filled with hay which they do eat but it's never completely empty. I stopped using toilet roll because Rodney got one stuck on his head & that was even with a bit cut out of it!

PIggies can eat varied amounts of hay but I'm sure they will be eating enough to sustain them. One of my piggies eats tons of hay but doesnt drink much compared to the other piggies and he has really long poops. One of the other piggies doesnt each as much hay but drinks loads and she has really small poops! INstint will tell the piggies what they need as long as they have constant access to fresh hay I'm sure they will fine..
