How do you pronounce 'Cavies / Cavy'?

Is it Cavy rhyming with 'chavvy' or rhyming with 'wavy' ?

Sounds like a stupid question but over one year of us keeping these gorgeous creatures I keep hearing them prounced these two different ways, and I'd love to know which is correct! ;D
 
It's meant to be "wavy" (only know that cos I remember a "gravy" one lol) but I always say it the "chavvy" way by accident lol :P
 
Cavy is pronouced Ca-vy and Cavies is Ca-vies
I orginally thought it was Cav-y.

i dont get this it rymes with chavvy doesnt it like cavy :-\ not wavy gravy ? for cave ey :-X I'm sure its not that
 
another way i've seen it spelt out was this:

caveee (so it was the emphasis on the eeee sound) lol hope this helps :D :D :D

but yes it's the rhyming with wavy, gravy............... O0 O0 O0

It is cave y..ie rhyming with gravy and wavy.
