I am suspecting that Chocolate Pig has an abscess in his belly. I know it's going to cost me and arm and a leg to rid him of it.

I've just managed to get myself out of the overdraft and the bill is going to put me straight back in the red. Obviously I am going to sort Choccie out.

I was just wondering what people did to ensure they don't end up in the same situation as me. Do you save regularly?mallethead

Oh no, it's a sod when things like that happen!
Tbh I don't save as I have far too many animals, so I just take the hit and start off the repayments all over again :)

I hope all goes well for your piggy

It's always the same, but I can't leave him like this. But belly abscesses aren't very good. He seems so bright and breezy.x

My piggies seem to get sick a lot. So I'll be needing to put a lot more away :(. Thanks for the tips xx

It's definitely not the solution for everyone, but I keep an interest-free credit card for all emergencies. I never use it at any other time. I try to save a bit each month to pay it off if necessary too, but if there's not enough saved then I can pay off what I can without worrying.

Saw your post after this one - I'm sorry to hear about Chocolate :(

sorry to hear about Chocolate, really hope he is ok.

I have two piggies and two dogs and i put away £60 a month.

You can only do what you can do :)

Thanks for the tips. I think putting a lump sum into an account I haven't opened on line might be a good idea.

Thankfully, I have insured the dog -c

A separate account works for me but saying that, I only had need to take my one piggy recently for two visits and forgot I had the little 'piggy bank' so just paid from my regular one :x
It mounts up if you just put £5-10 aside each week or month, you really don't miss it that way.
Healing vibes for Chocolate x>>
