Hi all

My boys are currently on megazorb and fitch bedding on top because I love how it’s feels.
Out of interest how do you scoop poop daily without having to top up the fitch bedding

When I had my boys on aubiose, I would just poo pick twice daily. Now they’re on fleece I just sweep it up. The girls are more difficult because their fleece is clipped to the side - so keeps moving when I sweep.

When I used to use aubiose, I actually used one of those caps you get with washing up liquid (like Bold) to pick up the poos. Smaller than a dustpan and brush, and it was just the right shape to scoop up the poos without me having to touch them. Obviously, it wasn't the quickest method in the world, but I never lost any aubiose and would end up with a completely poo free cage. Got to admit fleece is a lot easier. Takes a couple of minutes to sweep everything up!

We go in with a surgical glove and a dustpan and round them all up..time consuming but thorough! And piggies get out of the cage time of course..we do have fleece on top of towels then newspaper..this is a twice daily thing 😁

I found with both Fitch and the egg tray bedding I use now, poop picking by hand works best. I don't use the surgical gloves as I don't like single use products. I just wash my hands thoroughly afterwards.

I am so glad you said that I was starting to wonder if I was the only one who pooped scooped by hand I find it so much quicker and easier.

When we've used woodshavings or hemp bedding in the past, we used a big metal serving spoon to scoop up the wettest and poopiest areas! But handpicking for the stray poops. We handpick all the fleece poops too.

I either sweep up with a rubber brush and dustpan, or use a cat litter scoop (the flat kind like a spatula.) or sometimes I just poo pick by hand.

I throw on a pair of disposable gloves (I have a ton because I dye my hair sometimes) and just pick it up that way :)

I couldn't do it with megazorb because the poos get lost and covered (I mean, not lost exactly because skinnies poo a lot) but I just cleaned out the whole cage more often. I find it easier with the fleece they're on at the mo - I just poop scoop twice a day with a feed scoop (an old one, not one that goes anywhere near food).

I pick the poop with a pair of waterproof gardening gloves 🧤 on the vet bed and fleece. Outside ark/bunny house has newspaper and hay so just clean out every 3 days as poop falls through the hay

After a week of scooping up poop with gloves. I am planning on making some no sew liners and see how I get on

Mine are on fleece. I roll up each liner and pour the poos into the bin, picking up any strays by hand. I have 5 piggies and poo pick every morni g and clean out the hay trays (newspaper and hay) once a week.
