....how do i know when the piggies are just play fighting or if things are heading for disaster?

I have two boys who i have had for 2 1/2 weeks, they had the usual dominance squabbles to start with...this last 5 days Kevin has been mounting and trying to hump Norman....Norm doesnt seem to bothered at the moment....this afternoon I opened the cage took Norm out gave him a cuddle...went to get Kev out but he was teeth chattering..so i took that as he didnt want a cuddle and left him. This evening they have been winding each other up, i have noticed both of them ?yawn ...they werent near each other it they were both opposite sides of the cage...then there was a lot of chasing and mounting and then a lot of popcorning....

It looked like they were just being boisterous and and playing .... But i havent had piggies before...is this what it sounds like?!?

You will probably find this link useful for deciphering the behaviour of your boys.

Please be aware that every time they are moved to a new space or separated during the settling in period it will likely trigger dominance issues. If your boys were not in a bonded pair when you got them (eg picked from a group of youngsters in a petshop) then they will still be going through the bonding process.

Probably the terrible boar hormones kicking in - boys will argue for top piggy spot/dominance from around 3-4 months old.
This is ok as long as one piggy is submissive and accepts being the underpig, if not, you may have to separate as they may fight a bloody battle

Thank you....from that link it looks like getting to know you behaviour....
They are settled 70% of the time and then they play 20% of the time there is just a few occassions when its looked a bit rough....hubby says I'm being to paranoid...i just dont want them to get hurt!
