After exhausting research, I have found a lot of conflicting information but after reading through the forums, here is what I have figured as part of the daily diet.

I would appreciate any yay's or nay's or advice of how often to provide these to them as I'm not 100% sure of what is good for their bodies without over doing it.

I was looking at the main greenry consisting of a mix of: Romaine, Parsley, celery (+ leaves), bok choy, spinach and dill. (Not necessarily all of this all the time, was thinking the bulk of the feedinds would be romaine, parsley and celery)

Then once every 2 days or so toss in some chopped carrots.

Treats after their dinner or random times consisting of - Apples, banana's, cucumbers, strawberries, kiwi. (change it up, learn what they enjoy or hate.. etc.. and of course.... in moderation!).

As well, what is everybody's feeling about those yogurt treats for guinea pigs? :)

boyfriend and I are heaeded to the store shortly... we never buy healthy food for even OURSELVES... Maybe our piggies will help us eat healthier too haha!

There are several requirements to consider with foods and not just the Vitamin C content.
One of which is Calcium as it can cause health problems such as bladder and kidney stones.
Parsley is high in calcium so should be a treat food.
There are many links to tables which have different food values on them and how often you should feed them at most

I use herbs for treats for my pigs as they never eat shop bought treats. As for yoghurt drops they are a big NO, Guinea Pigs are complete herbivores and as such are Lactose intolerant. If you must buy shop treats aim for things like the "naturals" range in pets at home. But steer clear of anything with dairy in it

Here is what I picked up today from safeway.

Rommaine lettuce,
Kale
Spinach
Parsley

I have to pick up celery and carrots tomorrow...will try a tiny amount of tomato in the future. Otherwise I have lots of apples!

Would any recommend the main blend to consist of rommaine and kale? How is spinach?

would it be ok to give them a small slice of apple after their meal? or keep that as a 'treat' only deal.

THe young one starting mowing down right away, but the one thats just under a year old has been mowing down on the hay and pellets but not any of the greenery really :( (rescued this one and not sure if the previous owner or the shelter fed them aside frmo pellets despite my asking)

I know this is new and scary for them so I will be patient, just learning their behaviours and trying to be cautious at the same time :)

TY for the responses!

Spinach, kale and parsley are high in calcium so should be fed sparingy! if I do give spinach, I give the baby leaf. I wouldn't give all these high calcium foods together and too often. Apples, I give a small piece each once or twice a week as they are quite acidic and can cause sores on their mouths, same with tomatoes. My lot will only eat vine tomatoes!

An example of what I gave today:
AM:

Romaine lettuce
pak choi
celery
mint

PM:
swiss chard
celeriac
fennel
chicory
dill

Thank you!

I'll pick up some pak choi tomorrow and mix that with the rommaine and celery for regular meals and feed the rest that I bought sparingly as you have all mentioned :)

Oh and when should I start being concerned about the one that isn't touching the greenery but only the pellets and hay? I can understand this being a stressful time for them but I don't want to hit any panic buttons needlessly ;P

awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.... the girls I had when I lived with my parents were NUTS about chicory. I can't find it in England as readily as in France. Any tips?

My boys never even tried those treats. I got them free at PAH but was a bit dubious as I know piggies are herbivorous, but they demonstrated that they are a big NONO...

Mine have the following:
AM
Round lettuce
banana (they share with daddy at breakfast)

PM
green beans (extra fine only with ends, yummy)
celery
romaine

and alternately
carrots
cucumber
spinach
kale
greens
brocoli (leaves and stalk)
melon rind
anything else I think they might like

the litlun likes grapes (red and sliced in half) although he's finding it tough eating it as it is all round and keeps falling!

if he peeing and pooing OK nd putting on weight, I wouldn't worry just yet. He'll soon see (literally) that his pal is munging away happily while he's just having the dry stuff...

It could be that he was only fed those when a baby. My Finlay barely nibbled green food when he arrived and now he's eating his half although he is under 400g and Bertie is 1250g! I think he might cause me to go bankrupt! :{

My lot go mad for spinach. I hand feed them spinach whe i get back from work as a treat every day.
You will definitely get to know what they like and dont like... My lot get a standard carrot, celery and a dark green veg every day and the rest if the other veg is a treat for them...

i feed silver beet and puha also. i dont know if you get these plants but they just love them!
