How I trim a grumpy pigs nails

Thought I would share these photos of Billy having a nail trim - he despises grooming, but I find that sitting him sideways and then bribing him with a pile of grass seems to keep him occupied long enough for me to get the job done!

Distraction with food always works; piggies just can't multitask with a full mouth!

My piggies are a nightmare when it comes to cutting nails! Maple squirms and the others nip and Rambo constantly tells me off!

Mine don't enjoy it either, Rodney isn't too bad he's very chilled generally but Billy has a temper.

Bit of grass in the face & he doesn't complain too much thank goodness he's easily bribed!

that is a good idea, I have done Jenis back nails but she kept tucking her front paws in when I tried to do those, think some veggies stuffed in front of her might just do it...

Mine do that too. Maple always snatches her paws away

Yes all mine pull their front paws away I find the index finger on front the worst. I always get back done first as they don't seem to bother about that as much

Look at that gorgeous face! Billy is so cute. Yes, I've discovered food treats work wonders. As Wiebke said they don't seem able to do anything else while eating. Peanut Butter gets his nails trimmed monthly at the vet's while having his dental. The dog gets her nails trimmed monthly at the groomers while getting a haircut & bath. That only leaves Hazelnut, so you'd think I'd cope. But no, he also likes to tuck his front paws in and give me a nip when I try to cut those nails. I now give him a long stalk of parsley. He is so busy stuffing the whole thing in his mouth, I can get 2 nails cut for every stalk of parsley.
