How long before lonliness sets in...

Hey guys. As some of you might know I lost my Momo in September last year. Since then McMac has been alone. I tried my best to keep him company and content and he seemed to be doing ok. But then I moved him outside because I thought he might like the fresh air and sun compared to a dark closed off garage. But recently I feel like I haven't been able to give him enough time as I have been busy with other stuff. I noticed he isn't as perky as he once was and he just seems lonely and maybe even depressed...I am hoping to get him to meet some babies soon but until then how can I keep him content?
 
Could you bring him inside with you until he can get some company of his own kind?
Check his weight as well and make sure he's not ill. It could be something more than depression.
 
He is eating ok, a little less then usual of his pellet food but he is eating his grass and veggies fine.
I would bring him inside but there isn't any room. His old space in the garage has been taken over by my brothers stuff :(
 
Is there no way you can make space in your bedroom? Perhaps get rid of something? He really needs lots of love and your company right now.
 
I have a single degu (unfortunately he has to live by himself) but he is in the living room with us. He has a couple of small soft toys (the ones without plastic eyes) that he cuddles up to. Have you tried anything like that?

I wouldn't imagine there is much difference to him being outdoors than in the garage but he does seem lonely.

I would be inclined to have him seen by a vet in case her has an underlying illness.

I might be able to...it would only be small as my room is already a bit of a squeeze...Do you think a 2x2 or 2x3 C&C would be ok until I find him a friend? Because I might be able to squeeze that in somewhere...
 
to be honest it depends how much time you spend in your room, i put Marmite in my room but i'm hardly in there and when i am i'm just lazing around, the front rooms the best place for a piggy where everythings going on they love being nosey !
 
All of my time is spent in my room lol. Studying, playing video games, on the laptop, sleeping, etc etc.

I have just got some grids, moved my room around a little and managed to find space for a 2x2. Do you think that would be ok? Not sure if I could stretch to 3x2 but I will see now
 
Personally I got rid of my television and a cupboard so the girls could have more space. I would have him with you as you say you spend most of the time in your room. Is there any space in the living room when you get him a friend? Once you are used to him being indoors with you, you will miss him too much to have him outside. :)
 
I managed a 2x3 :) It sticks out a little at one corner and I am worried about kicking it on accident. But it fits none the less :) I will take a picture to see what you guys think

Here we are. There is a huge a$$ wardrobe to the left and to the right is my desk. Need to figure out a good way to keep the wires out of reach
 
That looks fine for a single piggy.
Can you look to take him dating for a friend in the future?
My fuzzy came depressed within a couple of months after losing his cage mate :(

Yes I am planning on that :) There are some piggies that will be ready for McMac to meet in a couple of weeks
 
Few! All made and correx in. It is more a 3x1.5 as the correx width wasn't big enough to fit 3x2
I also made my very first hay loft with scraps of correx and a heap of cable ties lol. It is only a 1x1 but I hope he likes it

Whee gave our boy Duke a stuffed toy dog, i took off the eyes and cut off the whiskers and then drew them all on LOL he used to love to toss his Brownie Bear (that was his dog's name...... he now sleeps on my bed with me) around, he'd sit on BB, poop on him too rolleyes (don't worry BB used to have baths!)

Thankyou, he is moving in today, hopefully he can get the hang of the ramp lol.
McMac had a teddy once before but he never took much notice of him. Maybe I need to take him teddy dating :))
