How long before you give in?

Hiya :)

I've been trying to switch Gizmo and Steve to pellets, because I know they are nutritional and better for them than their mix. Unfortunately, until I joined forums, I didn't know any better and they have been on mix all their life, which they do pick at.

So I bought Excel pellets, 2 flavours, and started mixing it in with their food. When it got to where it was pretty much just pellets, they stopped eating it. They really don't like the pellets.

I tried being a mean mummy and only offering them it, but it went for ages when they only ate hay and veggies. Gizmo's actually lost a bit of weight. So today I have given in and asked my sister to buy a sack of mix again for them. Luckily I only bought a small Excel.

Should I try again or just keep them on mix? How long would you be tough for?
 
Hello there,

Have you considered trying a different brand of nuggets? I get different varieties of nuggets donated to the rescue and find that the guineas here are incredibly unimpressed by the excel range, I often end up throwing most of it away. WAGG nuggets tend to get the thumbs up from the guineas here.

Well they tried the Pets at Home ones before, weren't impressed with those either, but my rabbits love their brand. Thanks for the advise about Wagg, will see if I can get some :)
 
My piggies wouldnt touch p@h nuggets or exel so i now buy wagg ones from tesco and they cant get enough they absolutely love them :)
 
mine are on P@H - are they good, or should i be considering to switch? i choose P@H *** they always would have them in stock! rolleyes
