I have a small veggies shop thing up the road- not too sure what they have in there but it seems ideal if i get piggies, I'm wondering how many trips a week i'd need to make for two piggies? How long does the veg last, how much would you advise getting in one trip? :)

oh and another Q - how often would you feet fruit? and how much?

Different veggies last longer then others, it also depends how you store them. We put things like carrots, put in a black material bag, and cabbages in our outhouse, as it's pretty cold out there, and not very sunny. I found carrots went slimy quick in the fridge & in plastic bags as they condensate more.

I find carrots keep really well, sometimes for up to 2.5 weeks, cabbages & lettuce seem to keep a week or so. Another thing is how ripe it is when you buy it, as obviously if you buy it really ripe it won't last as long haha.

We buy veg once a week, because we can't get to a shop any other time. Most people tend to buy 2-3 times a week though :)
