Does anyone know how long a culture takes? I went to the vets last Tuesday and they still have not rung me with any findings... i would've thought if anything was to ' grow ' it would've happened by now?
they are testing for fungal or ringwormi am hoping it isn't ringworm as her ear has improved with the treatment, spray, but it hasn't gone.. I will chase them up tomorrow just incase its been forgotten as it was the vets last day lol !
she just pulled hairs, she didn't scrape ( i don't think I could've coped with a scrape on my first vets visit )i seem to remember chesney's fungal skin scraping taking a while aswell. came back as ringworm but was easily sorted thankfully.

I know... Bit annoying as if it is ringworm - which after reading stuff on here I don't think it is as it's not spread and it does look better - I want to know so I can sort it out... ! She said they would chase it up ... West Bridgford isn't that far for me but the again I do drive.. Ooo you would want it doing by someone with experience... It's a nightmare isn't it ?!? XEh... useless.. no offence, but you paid that money and the results aren't even back? pfft... It's put me off going back there to be honest, I'm now considering going to the one in West Bridgeford, but it's a bit far off from us.
I know for a fact that if someone can take Cesaro for me he'll be being neutered in Northampton. Vets 4 Pets quoted me of £60 for it and said they hadn't done many, it was only £51 at the Northampton one.
Did you get the imaverol like Helen suggested?
Thanks.. it was my first ever visit to a vet, new to owning pets too ( daughter had a goldfish!).. i think she saw me coming to be honest, i just said yes... thinking i would have results fast & treat accordingly.. but she said even if it was ringworm just to carry on with the spray.. the ear does look a lot clearer now, not as mouldy looking and only a slight bit near the tip now but still visible..Any vet worth their salt should be able to spot, differentiate between and treat the most common skin conditions, without the need to culture. The key is to be treating the animal to stop irritation or suffering as quickly as possible, rather than having to wait for a culture.
None of us have signs of it kerrie.. i am very funny about hand washing and have the soreness to prove it lol.. bless you, i would take you if i was a more confident driver on the motorways! If you wanted west bridgford, let me know xYup just a bit. It may not be if non of you have caught it?
Some of the people from this site are in a group on FB where they try and help arrange piggy trains to get piggies to appointments etc. So I'm going to see if someone from there will take Cesaro for me and pay the fuel costs. I'm trying to figure if I've more money at the beginning or end of July, once I figure that I'll ask about the train and then get him booked in with the vets because I'd rather do it when people are going by there. Stewy offered but it was a Saturday and they only operate on week days.
I have no idea Kerrie.. i am a bit clueless hence all my questions on here lol ! My other half wants to put a complaint in to the vets..Arr thanks @artcasper
It's better to be safe than sorry with washing your hands! Well it's good non of you have got anything and the other guinea is fine, could it just have been some dry skin?
Yeah we probably will.... makes it easier that the vet has left now too !Honestly... I would let him do it.. We complained when "The Vet" misdiagnosed Sheamus, but the clinical director was crap as well and didn't understand that we didn't want an apology from her, we wanted it from the vet, not only for misdiagnosing Sheamus but for being cheeky to my son.
No..but i did ring them previously and query it.. i guess i will just have to accept i was slightly ripped off... wont be agreeing to anything else without full.info and checking costs !Did you mention the cost of the spray and how much it is on the net?
