How long does it take you to clean out the piggies cage? I was interested to know as it would take different times for different bedding.
I have my pigs on shavings at the moment and it takes me about an hour and a half. I have a three story hutch so I suppose it would take longer.
I am just curious.

I have a 2 x 4 C&C and use fleece.. takes me 10-15 mins to do a full clean ... i.e take all fleece out, wipe over and put clean fleece in... only have 2 piggies though

2 hours for my 16 currently. This is their routine clean out. A huge c&c (10 by 3 ish), a 5 by 2 c&c, and two 120cm indoor cages. A deep clean would take me longer.

They're on fleece and the 120 cages are usually hay (but sometimes fleece too).

Yeah it would take me longer to do a deep clean aswell. How often do you do a proper clean?

With our lot a full clean & health check usually takes us about 4 Hours, some serious lap time is included of - course..

Having done both of mine tonight it takes me an hour to an hour and a quarter to do a deep clean with hay trays, fresh fleeces etc. that does include the shaking out of fleeces outside, the sweep up of the pile of hay and poo that lands on the floor and to give everyone a good check over and a kiss!

about 5mins a cage, l take out the old vet bed and hose the cage (base) with a good blast from the hose pipe , whipe it dry then line it with news paper then put a clean vet bed in . all ready to go back into my pig wall (perpose built cages that suround the pig room

About 45 minutes to do both rabbit and piggy hutches, it is 8 foot wide , 2 foot deep and 5 foot high! ;)

Usually an hour for my boys at the top of the C&C and 2 hours for the two at the bottom. The two at the bottom I always have to take the cage apart to clean it so it doubles the time.

Yeah. The hour and a half it takes me includes veggies and cuddles and settling them in. And watching them run around, they get so excited when their cage is clean.

Takes around 30-45 mins to clean the cage and get them in their run which we will then leave them in for 24hours before putting them back. Cage clean tomorrow!

I have 2 c and c cages 6x2,with fleece liners this takes me 30 mins to deep clean bothreplace hay and fleece,150 cm cage with finacard, this takes 30 mins to thoughrly clean out and relace bedding.i have an outside hutch,6 feet x 2 feet two storey, use megasorb and bliss, this seems to take a good hour and a half,to take old bedding out and spray hutch, then replace clean bedding.i have a total of 13 piggies .i do the indoor cages all in one day.do outside hutch twice a week/all good fun!

I have 10 boys in five 2x4 C&C cages and use fleece bedding. It takes me about 30-45 mins each morning to spot-clean, and then about 2-3 hours once a week to do a complete clean (with time for weights and toenail clipping / haircuts / baths for whoever needs it). I do a load of pig washing every 2 days, which gives my poor landlord (who pays my water bill) minor cardiac failure! A huge amount of work - but so lovely to have clean happy piggies :luv:

It takes me around Around three hours and an aching back to fully clean and disinfect a two level 5ft hutch in a garage.

I spot clean for half an hour twice a day, then clean out there cage fully once a week.

It's amazing how many poops two 2 year old sows can produce!

About half an hour or so. I have a pretty basic large cage that is all one level. I throw out the old paper bedding, scrub it down with white vinegar, and fill it up again. The most time consuming part is Sundae being underfoot the whole time because she gets very anxious when people tamper with the cage!
