How long is a guinea pig in season (on heat)

Sometimes my 2 can be in season for a week but I'm not sure if it's because one goes into season then begins to settle down but then the other starts rolleyes
 
I think that it is more likely to do with dominance then. Both Ellie and Eliza snuggled on my knee this evening so they must be getting on ok. I'm just a stressed piggy mummy x
 
I have witnessed that sometimes the signs of being in season can also become part of a struggle for dominance, either at the beginning of a relationship or when the dominant sow has been ill.

The longest rumble with occasional mountaineering I've had lasted six weeks, but my sister complained for months about her two ladies!
