hi i buy the 10 kg bags of super guinea excel it is lasting me for 4-5
weeks feeding 14 adult guinea pigs does this seem about right
or am i under/over feeding them ?/

well my two have about one 2kg bag every two months so I guess it is about 1kg per pig per month but they are all different!

you mean 1kg per two piggies per month, or 0.5kg per piggie per month

so 7kg should be the amount by your two's consumption.

i shouldnt worry, as long as your pigs dont go with an empty food bowl. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

8kg lasts my 14 a week Hmmm I give a handful each per day! :)

was never that good at maths. yes I would say 0.5kg per piggie per month but everyone is different! (Sorry) :))

Yes so the amount you stated sounds about right as mine are 5 months old max!

My eight pigs go through 10kg every 2 months, roughly. Adult pigs shouldn't be given a full bowl of pellets and have it constantly topped up; a handful is about right per pig per day.

My eight get through a 4kg bag of pellets and a 2kg bag of wag every four weeks. Its might be more never really took notice of how often I buy it.

I agree - a handful per day per pig is more than enough. Sometimes my adults empty their bowl but they wait until feeding time to have it topped up again. They can munch constantly on hay but you don't want an obese pig as it's difficult for them to loose weight. :)

8Kg only last mine a week and thats a handful each! I have big hands maybe! :red

This is for 16! rolleyes

Sounds about right to me. We have on average 30 pigs here and get through 10kg a fortnight based on a handful per pig per day.
