I got two 10week old sows about 3 weeks ago. I cudlde them every nigt and try to hand feed them but they can sometimes be a bit scared. They get to have a run around my bedroom every night for at least an hour.
I no it sounds silly but they havent yet sqeaked to me when cuddling them.

Just wanted to no if this is normal?

They will come around and not all piggies squeak at you when you hold them :) Some pigs are just naturally more outgoing than others. Some of mine still run off and squeak when I pick them up!

Feeding them on your lap may help, nothing like bribery :))

That sounds very normal and as piggies are prey animals it can take quite a while. Infact some of mine that I have had for a year are still getting friendlier and friendlier so think in terms of months rather than weeks.

They will calm down but may always run when you try and pick them up - it's instinct.

I have found with one of mine that if I put a cosy down she goes inside and then I pick that up - not her directly, shes much happier that way.

It usually takes much longer for guinea pig to settle and relax than you think - especially one that has virtually had no contact with humans before.

ok thanks i think i was just worrying becasue i am a first time owner and thought i must of been doing something wrong. phew!
thanks :)
