Hi guys :)

I just got two new piggies (check out photo section for pics!) who will be living with my other girls. But just wondering how long I should keep them separate to watch out for signs off illness.

Last time I got pigs I just put them in together, and it turned out one of them had mange! rolleyes

Thanks :) hopefully someone has some idea :)

Oh that's handy you told me that, cos I just lent my guinea pig lopaedia to someone today! :))

Guinea Lynx et al suggest 3 weeks. 2 weeks should be plenty to spot most medical problems, 3 weeks would be "best" if you can manage it. :)

I'll see how it goes. :) I really don't want my pigs catching anything.

But the hutch/run I have the new babies in, well it's plenty big enough if the weather's good, for two babies, but the hutch part is quite small for them to be stuck in on bad days. They don't really feel like exploring much anyway at the moment. :)

So I'll be glad when they can get in the big hutch and run. Well the big cage for them in the shed should be ready by the time their quarantine is over, so maybe I'll introduce them there in neutral territory.
