How long to wait before getting another piggie?

Harvey is now on his own again after loosing Harlee, they both got on really well. I do want to get another pig so will be looking out for a baby boar to go with him as I really don't want to neuter him, its not necessary.

How long should I wait to get him a friend, obviously just want to do whats best for him.

Also has anyone rescued from Essex Guinea Pig, Rat & Rabbit Rescue thinking of looking there for his friend since its pretty close by, if not then the Blackberry Patch looks good.
 
I personally feel the sooner the better when it comes to a lone piggy although it depends on how you and Harvey feel.

When my Connie died, I had rehomed Eleanor as a friend for Eliza within two weeks as it was obvious from the minute Connie died that ELiza was pinning
 
How old is Harvey ? - a rescue is the best choice so Harvey can meet and chose a new friend to bring home :)) Personally, I have a real soft spot for older piggies as they are overlooked so often and are past the horrible hormonal stage rolleyes
I would opt for as soon as tbh - keep us posted and good luck, sorry cannot offer any advice on the rescues you mention, hopefully others can :)
 
When we lost our gorgeous Snowball we got his mate Cookie another friend a week later. We didn't want to wait too long because Cookie was looking very down in the dumps. Fortunately they took to each other straightaway and he was a happy chappie again :)

He is about a year and a half, I got Harlee as a buddy for him but a fox got to him the other night and he was only 7 months old 8...

He took to Harlee like a dad and they got along really well so I want to try and get another young piggy pal for him

Thanks everyone, I wasnt sure if its best to wait a while or the sooner the better xx
