How long would you leave it?

Hi All,

Three weeks on WednesdayI had a lady come out to take one of the foster girls to live with her younger pig she left a very small deposit and said she would be intouch. But she hasn't and now i have someone interested in some pigs so not sure what to do.

How long would you leave it before you rehome again and think the lady doesn't want the pig. I have tried calling, but her number isn't recognised. very odd!

If her number is unrecognised she is either stupid for not being able to remember her own number or just playing a trick on you so I would give them to the other person and keep the ladies deposit (so you can give it back to her of she does come for them later) if she comes and complains tell her you said that she would have to get back to you within two weeks or they will go to the next available home as it is unfair to keep them for someone who might not ever come and get them.
 
I'd say your priority is rehoming Louise. I know you don't want to let the lady down but three weeks is a long time- especially in that she's had no contact with you in the meantime. If she does come back then I'm sure you can explain that you waited three weeks, tried to call her and then offer to give her the deposit back. If she's a decent sort then she'll understand you have to do the best for the piggies, if she doesn't understand then it's best your foster girl didn't go to her anyway!
 
I would rehome to the new people, keep her deposit for if she rings back, explain that you did try to contact her but number unavailable, apologise for mix up (even though not your fault) and talk to her about the other fosters we have. It may be a genuine error with the phone number, or she may have changed her mind. Who knows? Either way if the piggy is offered another new home, I would go for it. xxxxx

Obviously I would love to keep Goldmoon, Esme and Bupu but at the end of the day the more I keep the less I can take in and rehome!

You would think the woman would of called me to check she was ok, its weird! :)
