I suppose it might depend on if your pigs are indoors or outdoors, if they're outdoors you might want to remove it after a while so as not to attract flies.
However mine are indoors and I always feed them in the morning before work then I'm not back until at least 5pm so in that case it does get left but invariably they eat it all.
Mine is generally gone within about 10 minutes, so if there was food left over I'd wonder whether I needed to cut portion sizes or whether it was something they were refusing to eat for some reason (eg it was on the turn).
@VickiA they have been fed veggies before from the previous owner but like I mentioned we just got them yesterday and was worried that the veggies would be left out too long if not eaten all. But yes they are in hiding a lot.
We did feed veggies again tonight and few different things they hadn't had before and wasn't all eaten- little things picked out the cilantro and left the other veggies.
Cilantro (coriander) is a real treat for my piggies so I bet they couldn't resist it. While they are settling in perhaps you could put the veg near their hidey houses to make sure they feel secure while eating.
That's a good idea. They come out grab a carrot and run back in there hidey to eat it. Find all sorts of veggies in their Hidey. Just want them to feel safe and that to know we won't hurt them. I know it takes time and paitence and it will come around. But yes, will put their dish closer so they feel safer. Good idea! Thanks!
