I am going on a trip to California and it looks like maybe delays in return flights. If my piggy doesnt get veggies how long can he do this. Also what vitamin c supplements are good and should they be routinely given

How long are you going for? A piggy needs vegetables daily. Can you get a friend to feed or someone you trust?

Is there anyone that is able to feed the pigs their veggies? I was away in France just last week and what I don't was prep all the pigs veggies on the Sunday for the Monday-Friday and my mum was kind enough to feed them to the pigs each day, is there anyone that could do this for you?

Ideally you do not leave your guinea pigs without unlimited fresh hay (which makes over 80% of the daily food intake), veg and fresh water for much more than 24 hours. Have you got somebody reliable you can ring up who could come across and feed your guinea pig if you have unexpected delays?

Some one will be home with piggy while I'm gone and will provide unlimited hay. pellets and fresh water. lm just not sure about veggies because they dont keep well in fridge for very long. a I will not be around to purchase fresh veggies. Any tadvice on keeping veggies in fridge. I buy small quantity at a time because right now have solo pig. I know, I know need to have more than one pig. Waiting for cage mate from local rescue. Probably wont be daily lap time or floor time when I'm away. Hopefully after I get back in a week piggy will still enjoy lap time when I get home.💓

A week is definitely too long to go without veggies. I would get some tupperware tubs and portion out some veggies per day to store in the fridge and then ask whoever is home just to give one of the tubs worth of veggies to your piggy each day. With the tubs sealed shut it should keep the veggies fresher a bit longer.

Do you currently keep veg in the fridge? All my veg (apart from sometimes the carrots) get kept in the fridge and I find it lasts really well, certainly lasts a lot longer than the supermarkets suggested use by dates.

I agree about checking your fridge. My veggies definitely keep in the fridge for a week, and some (dependent on the type) keep longer than that.

Yea, my lettuce was going bad quickly, i turned the fridge down, now its ok. But check which way the dial goes, i think 1 is coldest and 6 is warmest. But can vary
