Hey, i had my guinea pigs outside all year and they where absoloutly fine they like fresh air and i would put them outside in a run everyday for a little run around. Charlotte:)

mine is outdoors. all the time in summer in a shadey bit of our orchard and in the winter time we put i put her in a big wooden box in a shed so that she can still get plenty of exerscise. i would have her in side the house in winter but i have asthma and its bad for me.

Tinker and Leo have a Thistle Hall hutch in a shed (the bunny has a hutch in there too). They have a run in the garden till I build the enclosure. In the winder they have the run of the shed (which is insulated, brick built with lighting and heating). The buyy usually has free run of the garden of the kitchen floor.

Benjamin, Franklin and Thomas live in my room and have a C&C run on the floor. They do go out on warm days for a bit of fun.

I guess its different for both. The indoor ones probably get handled more and are use to us walking by all day every day where as the outside ones are more 'wild' (probably the wrong word). they get handeled loads but not as much as the inside ones, they love to explore and run about where as the inside ones prefer to sit on your lap.

They are all happy just happy in different ways. They use to all be inside till Tinker (resuce piggy) came along because he was big and bouncy and use to large grass space he moved in to the garden with a friend for him (Leo).

My dog is not fussed by the outside or inside ones. He has a sniff but just wanders off. When he was a puppy he was brought up with the rabbit who use to be inside all the time when he was small and young and learnt not to touch it or bother it. He is the same with the guinea pigs.

Is your pig a lone pig? does she not get lonely?

Mine are all in the shed at the moment for the summer. As soon as temp drops below 10 degrees I bring them in. I was going to try them all winter in the shed but I know I will worry so I will bring them in and put them upstairs in my spare room which is sorted out now...well almost but nothing that won't take half a day to sort out.

If I don't bring them in for winter then we will never see them, we will never know if they are unwell. At the mo I am always in the shed I spend 5 minutes every hour just watching them for the hell of it! :D

I think for my own peace of mind I will have them in for the winter. I'd miss them too much otherwise! :)

lol do your neighbours know you have pigs or do they just think you like being in your shed? lol :)):))

My piggies live outside in the summer and they go in the garage for winter not allowed them inside :(
