I Have 4 girls living in 2s when i clean them out i put them all out together and all seem to get on.

i was thinking of putting them all together to live in 1 cage do you think this would work?

Why not try putting them for regular floor time together during the day and gradually build the time up together, that way they'll start discovering their ranks within the group and you'll be able to see if they all get along well enough to be put together :) Do you have a large cage to put them all together or perhaps you could try and join the two cages together? Ooo and when/if you do put them together don't forget to put fresh bedding down so it smells neutral to them this worked a treat for my boys :) good luck and hope everything goes well, keep us updated :))

I let them out for a run together most days and it seems calleigh is the boss .

I do have a very big cage but was going to put both the cages together somehow

I have 5 together and people have a lot more than that but it does take a while for them to sort dominance issue's but they usually do. my sister in laws undersow really wasn,t happy with the new babie's but tho they are not best friend's they get on better after two week's.

Hmmm well i'd say go for it! :) If you have spare cages and a problem does happen between them least you can split them :) Hope it goes well and they all get along!

I hope that it all goes well - I would go for it! You will have to expect some dominance behaviour that can last for a couple to three weeks until the new hierarchy is etablished and the group is settling down.

I have currently 8 sows living together with one neutered boar, but in August, I was up to 9 sows for a short while until one of my sows suddenly died from heart failure.

I going to do it has to be worth a try it has to be better to have 3 friends than just 1

they are all around the same age so I'm hoping that will help

If they are getting on at run time, you are in with a VERY good chance that they will work out together as a group. The two head sows will have a sort out at who comes top; that can result in the odd "handbags at dawn" face-off, but it usually won't escalate into more than a short scuffle.

i had 9 sows living togeather happily. It will deffo work if there is enough space, hideys, food & water bottles/bowls. Good luck

Well i have put them all together all was for the first hour then they had a bit of a bum wiggle teeth chatter then all back to being happy

daisy and taylor are sleeping together who dident live together and the other 2 are haveing a little munch and a sleep .

i have put them where i can see them all the time so if anything happens i get get in there stright away

My 6 sows get on ok together, it took them a while to get used to each other and they still have the occational rumble but they get on fine, i think providing they have plenty of space to live in and hidy holes etc to get away from one another then you can put an indefinate number of sows together (within reason). I'm thinking of getting a castrated boar to pop in with mine.

x.

I've got 4 sows living together & they're all fine (we did get the dominance thing though but after a day or so it was fine & when I put the 4th sow in after a few hours they were best friends, my brother has 11 sows all in together & he hasn't had any problems.

hi i have 5 living together and they seem very happy it is also easier for me as only one big cage to clean out once a week good luck with your girls it is also lovely to see the group all standing around the plate when i put a fresh bowl of chopped up veges in allways makes me smile

How are the girls shaking down? I hope that all you are getting is the normal dominance sort out for the hierarchy.
