I found a color coded guide to fruits and veggies and how many times per week the can be fed. What I am not sure is when it says 2-4 times a week, does that mean that individual fruit or veggie can be given 2-4 times a week or veggies from that color group 2-4 times per week?

For example, butternut squash is 2-4 times a week, can I also give another veggie from the 2-4 times per week category in that same week?

So far we have tried zuchinni, celery, strawberries (fruit and green), butternut squash, celery, and cucumber. Zuchinni, and butternut squash are the favorites, the verdict is still out on cucumber but celery and strawberries were a no-go.

I don't want to feed the same thing again, and again but we are still in the introduction phase with fresh fruits and veggies. I doubt she got any prior to coming home with us.

To be honest I end up feeding the same thing over and over. Mine get green beans, cucumber, pepper, some type of lettuce each and every time. Then they often get celery but not every day, same goes for tomato, broccoli, water-cress. They'll get the occasional bit of Kale. They'll have half a grape once a week and a little bit of apple once a week. Today they'll have a blueberry each.

Basically the things I've listed as an every-day are generally fine. Cucumber is known to cause sores in some piggies (around the mouth) but mine have never had an issue. Tomatoes can also cause sores so I give them less often.
Veggies from the cruciferous family (kale, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage etc) are to be given in controlled amounts. If you give one, don't give the other on the same day, and never give in large portions. They have health benefits, but too much can cause bloat which is very dangerous. Don't let it scare you off them, a little every other day is good.

Celery is a diuretic. These have their uses in certain medical situations, otherwise it's best to give every other day I believe, chopped up small due to the stringy bits.

Fruit are lovely treats, healthy in small amounts, but once or twice a week and no more. Sugar is bad for guinea pigs.

Though I can't answer your question the way you hoped I do hope this helps. Try to remember the cruciferous rule and the fruit one, and beware of acid, and you should be OK :) x

mind get these on a daily basis hope there ok they always clean them up tho :) green beans, pepper, cabbage, cucumber or a herb like parsley or coriander

3 of my girls love courgette, the other 2 hate it. I have also found that mine love aubergine skin but I only feed it occasionally due to high sugar.
I generally find I feed mine spring greens, sweetheart cabbage, celery, green beans, cucumber and lettuce.
I also sometimes feed carrots and broccoli (they especially love the broccoli stalk), apples and cauliflower leaves.

:D I recently tried my girls with courgette. None of them touched it!
All my girls regularly get parsnip, carrot, peppers, sweetcorn, parsley and broccoli. Only very small amounts and/or cut up into 3 or 4 small pieces. Added to this they may get cucumber, cabbage, pak choi, loose leaf lettuce, 1/4 of a baby plum tomato, half a blueberry or two or three very small pieces of apple. I have stopped giving kale and spinach, as I am seeing a lot of calcium deposits. I have never had a case of bloat.
(A friend of mine who had a guinea pig used to feed him whole veg and he got bloat once.)
