How much bedding?

We haven't got any piggies yet, but I'm soon going to be purchasing everything we need for when we do get them.

I'm looking to put a mixture of hemp litter/shavings and hay in the cage with hemp primarily in the main areas and hay more in the sleeping areas (altbough the pigs may have different ideas and will rearrange accordingly lol) We will be clearing/cleaning the cage weekly basis, more often if needed.

Approx how much hemp bedding do you experienced owners think will we go through for two pigs over the course of a month? I ask because I am looking to stock up on a month's worth of supplies and reorder on a monthly basis.
 
We use quite a thick layer of litter, don’t know roughly how much though, sorry!
 
It depends on the cage size. You will probably want about an half an inch to an inch of litter. You will be removing poop and wet areas daily, sometimes twice daily (and ultimately some litter will end up being removed with it).
Mine are outdoors so it is a bit different to indoors as I use large amounts of hay as bedding! In terms of litter though, which is probably no different indoors to outdoors, I use about an inch thick of finacard all over a 5ft two storey hutch. I buy it from a local farm. It’s, I think, a 15kg bale of finacard and it lasts me for about two months. This is with daily removal of soiled bedding and a full clean out weekly.
I buy a bale of meadow hay for bedding and it lasts me about three months. To put it into a bit of size perspective, a large bag of hay from a pet store only lasts me about two weeks, but as I say mine are outdoors so I get through more bedding hay.
 
i use 1 to 11/2 inches thick of aubiose hemp in my hutches.with newspaper or puppypads as a base.full clean every 7 days.i get through 11/2 bags a week.so buy 6 ,20kgs bales a month.one bale should last a whole month for two piggies !
 
Thanks y'all. That gives me a good idea of how much to get wad going to get the hugro hemp bedding from Zooplus for convenience but it's double the price of auboise, so I think I'll use the latter instead lol.
 
zooplus sell hemparade bedding which is similar to aubiose.it may be a possibility if transportation of a large bale is difficult for you !

I recently bought the 100l Hugro hemp bedding from Zooplus- very pleased with it. I do a 2 inch layer then spot clean pee corners every day. Any poos seem to dry out instantly on this stuff.
 
I missed the hemparade somehow. The price of that is better; not far off auboise. My biggest challenge is going to be figuring out where to store all the bedding and hay. It may force me to clean out a closet I have been avoiding lol
 
I have a 7x2 C&C and it would take about 2/3 - 3/4 of a bale of Aubiose to totaly re-fill, but I only chuck wet/dirty bits so a bale lasts me about a month
