Hi.
I’ve read a few threads about restricting pellets. The first couple weeks I owned guinea pigs I used to leave a bowl in there full of pellets (I cringe so much now!) but I only give 1 tablespoon. But then I saw a thread saying they give a number of pellets, but Burgess pellets are much smaller than other pellets. Shall I count a number of pellets or continue with 1 tablespoon? I have recently bought a filter jug (it took me ages to find it, it was out of stock everywhere!), he did have a bit of powdery pee but it seems to be a a lot better now since I got the jug. I was just wondering if I should continue with the amount of pellets I should give. He absolutely goes crazy for his pellets!

We used to feed the boys burgees an table spoon should be fine as they are so tiny! It should be around 6g!
Can’t comment on feeding with powdery pee I’m afraid!

Keep them to a tablespoon. Pellets are the junk food of the piggy world. They generally go crazy for them but that doesn’t mean you give him more than he needs.

Yes burgess are small, but it is still one tablespoon.

White , powdery is normal, it’s gritty that’s a problem.

I won’t! Thank you.
