rita and currant were £30 from a breeder.
Pickle was £20 from pets at home and Teddy and Muffin were £35 i think from pets at home.

i did try to look for rescue piggies before i got Rita and Currant but i had trouble finding a rescue that would rehome to a narrow boat!

next time i will rescue :)

I had my first two from a lady I had already 'spoke' to on net mums who put a free ad on. A week later some one asked if I would take in two more, because her children could not be bothered with them :(

The second two were actually a sow and boar, not sisters as PAH had told her, and the sow was pregnant when I had her, she had 3 pups. So I got 7 piggies for nothing :) but spent loads on them since :))

To me, all my girl are priceless :) They are all from rescues/R.S.P.C.A and I paid the donations, can't remember what I paid, it dosen't matter though, like I said, can't put a price on them, I would go without for my precious girls, they mean the absolute world to me :)

Silver was bought as a present for my boyfriend from a piggy farm in whitby she was £17.50. Bella £19 from P@H bought by my boyfriend for me, MJ pet shop pig £20, Pumpkin adopted from friends, Free. Suki P@H adoption baby charged full price, despite being in the rescue cages they were only keeping them in with the mother for the six weeks and then whoever was left was going into the main sale area. She was £19.

I got my three free from a lovely lady on this board who needed to rehome them x I love them to pieces and wouldnt be without them now! Its not really the price of the pigs though its the price of the upkeep - the food, the hay, the toys (oh dear the toys! lol), not to mention the vets fees!

That's true! @) but try having horses, it's £50 call out before they even look at them, worth it though x)

Oh yeah definitely when my full loan had a really bad snotty nose we asked around loads of people to see if they needed the vet too just to split the callout charge. Its thirty pound here and then your consultation on top of that comes to around 60-70 pounds.

Nothing compared to vets bills:(|)

Hahaa completely agree. Went for a check up for my piggy had to pay £5 for them to basically say "She's fine". Call out fee's for horses... don't get me started :p

Anyways, my guinea pigs were given to me for free. I've had 6 guinea pigs in total and I paid for 3 of them lol! The rest were given to me :)

£5 won't even open my vet's door... WOW!

Haha same, £5 will get you into the PDSA here and thats only if your entitled to PDSA petcare e.g on housing benefit. Even the supposedly free pet care you have to pay for! Only two of my furrballs are registered with the PDSA with my nana being on a pension shes entitled to it, we always leave fairly large donations though. The other three are registered with a private Vets and we have to pay £25 consultation, I know tha callout fee is a set price of £30 doesnt matter whether theyre coming to a house, stable or field.
