But that is not a weekly cost :) You don't buy a new cage, carrier, dish and bottle every week.

Not that much really..depends what I buy. If it's just food, between £5 - £10..if hay too, then that's an extra £1.25. The cost of their pellets is about £3 I think, not too sure, got a massive bag (50% free or something) last time I bought any.

In the summer though I'll be buying no veg (well maybe peppers, we've never had that much success with them..we get them green, then they go mouldy), only thing will be hay and random stuff we decide to get them.

This week I spent approx. £7 on veg and £1.25 on hay. Will pick up bits of veg during the week too maybe.

dito, minus all these one time purchases you spend about 20 to 25 pound, which is alright..
I have to say though I probably spend less as I buy bulk.

o__O How many guinea pigs do you have to use that much fruit and veg' in a week!? Must be a lot. XD

I don't have to buy food and hay every week, so it's really just some extra fruit 'n' veg, so really not that expensive. We get a free newspaper every week that usually helps to deal with the bedding..

With my two new piggies the cost will be going up a bit, but it's really not that much every week.

Spend on average £15 per week on the piggies' fruit and veg for 14 of them :)

About £6 per week on hay. Shredded paper now comes from my mum's work :)

Dry food - we buy about 10 bags at the beginning of the month, when people get paid - About £25?

Also at the moment have spent just over £20 for Tonni and his medication for the week :)

I am not counting :) can't get into trouble fr spending too much if you dont add it up! I think however much I spend is well worth it though ;)

I dread to think! Too much probably -they are spoilt! Worth every penny though!

At a guess I would say about £20 ish per week.

I gave up counting ages ago when i starting sneaking fruit n veg into the shopping trolley for the piggies ;D

Don't know and am not going to work it out! But I expect their stuff & the dogs' stuff costs more than ours!

Well i also have ten rats so i suppose with their food and piggie food and fruit/veg i must spend more on them than i do on myself and my partner! :) I dont have children - only fur babies!

was thinking exaclty the same thing as you Susie ;)

Veggies wprk out about a £5 a week

I can now get hay very cheaply and the megazorb around£15 a month dry food about £10

I think it depends i like to shop around for the best prices and i do check out the clearance lines as well

hay £3

dry food £10

veggies i think about £30 hate to think about it :-\ then i have the extras like strawberries for fluffy
then there is sweetcorn for baby and watercress and parsley ect for shea who needs feeding up after giving birth ;)

so i think we will stick to £30 but some times i think it's more ;D but i don't tell the partner

cucumbers are exspensive at the moment, i use about 3 per day, so add the cost of that on as well :-\

:-X think i'm not gonna add anymore up, now i know where all my cash is going ;D

well its £13 on hay , Spillers food £8.50 add together £21.50 on food.a month

£6.50 on saw dust for winter months between November to March so .....

Greens and fruit comes mainly on the family food shop per week as we eat fresh veg, so peeling of Guinea food is about £2 a week i also go to the market on a sunday and have all the cut off leaves for the guineas from the stall holder for free ^-^

So about £30 a month, so it breaks it down to about £5 a week, ^-^
Well i don't think that is too bad

Emma

I spend about £10-£12 on veg a week, depending on where I do my shopping. £4 a week on dry food and £16 a fortnight on hay and shavings

Oh dear for just one i'd spend at least $20-25 OZ plus hay etc.. nah i don't want to really add it up, i agree with everyone it's worth it for them every dollar/pound just love my baby :smitten: :smitten:

I have 17 guineas and they get loads of food, so what am i doing wrong as i don't spend as much as you all seem too? 98)

Mind you i buy all there many food and hay in bulk.

i think it deppands what shopd you go to for them i get some stuff form morrisions and some stuff for a maket stall in town

but i can only buy for a week as we onl ygot a small fridge and there stull allready takes half the frigde up

I'd say about £50 amonth, they cost me more in food than my 6 cats! and my cats eat the very most premium food there is!

But it seems that you 'compain' about the costs. Forgive me if I didn't read your postings right

no i jsut saying that as there are only little amimals there cost more to keep them in dog or a cat

oh i like going around pets shops looking for stuff for them and looking for new foods for them to try

Varies as some weeks veggies are on special offer at Lidl, last week cucumbers were only 39p. If your piggies like parsley some Tesco's are selling 3 huge bunches for £1.50. I spend on average £7 per week.
