I have 7 piggies, and currently get vegetables in aldi/lidl and spend roughly £25/30 weekly. How can i get this a little lower? Or is this roughly what people spend on them?

Thank you

I also have 7 piggies and don't spend anything like that on veggies for them. Each week i get through 2 packs of three peppers, two cucumbers, 1 bunch of celery, packet of green beans and 3 romaine lettuce plus some herbs. They will also have a treat of some of the fruit and veg i buy for us but it would be a small bit of carrot or a kale leaf or some fruit such as blueberry or a slice of banana. So maybe i spend £12 just on the piggies veg. In the summer they have herbs from the garden and lots of grass, so i probably spend less on veggies in the summer.

Have you taken a look at the at the diet guide on the forum Long Term Balanced General And Special Needs Guinea Pig Diets . Vegetable should only account for 10/15% of a piggies daily food intake.

Hope this helps and you enjoy being on the forum.

They get half their veggies in the morning and half in the evening. I know some people just give them it all at one time of the day, so it is up to you really,

I have 8 piggies and each week we get through 3 cucumbers, 7-8 mixed peppers, 1 pack green beans, one pack of celery and 1 large bag & 1 small bag of coriander. Occasionally we also have a pack of baby sweet corn.

I follow the guidance in the guide that @YvonneBlue has linked above. My piggies get their portions of veggies split between breakfast & teatime to spread out the fun for them.

I have 4 piggies and go through two cucumbers, two packs of three peppers, one pack of green beans, one pack of mini corn, two packs of coriander and two packs of little gem lettuce (two lettuces in a pack). I split my veg in to a breakfast portion and a teatime portion and spend around £6 a week from Asda

I spent around £8-10 for five animals - three rabbits (1.5-2 cups of veg per day each) and two piggies (one cup per day each) but as the rabbits have a little more veg per day than the piggies do, so by the time that’s taken into account what I buy probably would go round six or seven piggies.
i buy a couple of cucumbers, four peppers (Although some of that is also eaten by the people in the house!), 2/3 packs of coriander, two packs of little gem lettuce, a bag of spring greens, a pack of green beans. Something the odd extra thing but the items ive listed form the basis.
I feed half in the morning and half in the evening.
I'm the same as Yvonne though, they spend a lot of time on grass in summer so tend to get a little less veg (not drastically less), plus I grow my own so the cost is less in summer
