As the title suggests I was wondering how much your piggies drink each day?
Our girls have two water bottles, one large and one medium/midi I think it's called and they don't seem to drink a lot. Both bottles are working as they should, we've checked, they are replaced daily and they have a good diet I think, mainly hay, with a variety of veg in a morning, nuggets over night with hay topped up as required. They get time out on the grass each day, weather permitting, and occasional salad/hay treats mixed into nuggets or hay box.
I'm not concerned, they have grown well since we've had them and seem happy and healthy.

It varies greatly to be honest.
Ruby is our drinker, and although she lives on her own, she has the largest water bottle and it requires filling the most often.
Harry and Lucy live together and have a smaller bottle, which empties much more slowly.

Sounds like maybe they get most of the water they need from their grass and veggies? Two of my piggies I have never, ever seen drink from their bottles, while a couple of their friends in the same cage seem to drink after every mouthful of hay!

On paper, they 'should' drink roughly 10ml per 100g of body weight per day. But, as my vet likes to tell me quite often, piggies don't read the textbooks! 😅 so it really depends on each individual piggy and whats normal for them.

Thank you all for your replies, I have seen and heard them use the water bottles so I know they do drink but it's reassuring to know others don't drink lots.
As I said I was more curious than concerned so I'm quite content now that they're ok. Thanks again. 😊
