How much food do your piggies eat per month?

Post how many Guinea Pigs you have and how much hay you use roughly I use 1.1kg of Oxbow Timothy Hay for my two girls per month does that sound about right?

I have 8 guinea pigs. I go through roughly 1 bale/month. The bale weighs about 60lbs(27kg). A lot goes to waste though because I don't use a hayrack and just put it in a kitty litter pan because they like to lie and play in it. The bale only costs $4. So its ok if a little goes to waste

I have used 2kg of hay, silly amount of veggies and approx 1 kg food in just over 3 weeks

Ive got 10 pigs and use:

- roughly 4KGs nuggets per month - i buy this in 10kg bags so probably costs me around £3.50-£4.00 per 4wks

- 2 of dust free hay's large stalky & soft hay bales per 4wks - although i have just purchased their american timothy hay boxes and 4 days on they are half way through one of the the timothy hay boxes and quarter of a box through of their meadow hay - the hay is so green and smell lush no wonder they are wolfing it down - i x)x) dust free hay..... Their hay costs around £35 per 4wks

- i go shopping every 5 days and spend around £15 on veg (may be slightly more/less as this goes in with our own food shopping so it's difficult to know exactly) - i do shop at the most expensive shop for veg though - sainsburys :{

My three girls eat that much each a month They always have a constant supply of hay, I use Timothy hay imported from the US (like Oxbow) it's long & stalky so very good for their teeth. I do keep it off the floor in a hay rack thing, so there is less risk of eye pokes though. They have far too much veg I keep meaning to cut that down but they know how to manipulate their hooman :red I don't know how much in the way of pellets they get through, seems to be a bag every other month maybe, I don't give them unlimited pellets because Chubbs would scoff the lot given the chance so they get about a level tablespoon each every day, split into two feeds rolleyes
