Ideally, you feed about 50g. that is about 1 cupful per piggy per day in as many feedings as you like. Try to include one high vitamin C veg every day, either a slice of pepper of any colour, a bit of broccoli (any part) or a sprig of fresh coriander/cilantro, parsley, dill, mint or basil. Please vary between these. Feed fruit and tomatoes only twice a week; too much can cause sores on lips and in the mouth. Over time, you have to work out your own balance between what the piggies eat, what is feasible and payable.
Some veg, like cucumbers, celery, peppers, you can feed daily; others like carrots, sweetcorn, fresh beetroot, fennel, broccoli, Romaine or little gem lettuce, cabbages like sweetheart/pointed or spring greens, cauliflower leaves, green beans or mange tout you feed 2-3 times a week. Kale and spinach are very in calcium and should be an occasional treat.
Hay should make up to 80% of the daily food intake. That is ideal to keep the guts balanced and the crucial back teeth ground down. Fresh veg makes about 10% and pellets make up the last 10% of an adult piggy's diet. If you have youngsters, please give your piggies unlimited pellets until their weekly weight gain slows down, from then on in you reduce the amount very gradually to the half to handful that a fully grown adult from about 15 months onwards needs.
Please weigh your piggies weekly throughout their lifetime; it is an important health monitor.
