I searched up green leaf and it said it was a little acidic but contained a good amount of vitamin C. It also said it should be fed ALMOST daily and to take breaks from it every so often as well. What does it mean by almost daily? And can I feed it green leaf everyday? Also, when I do feed my guinea pig green leaf, how much of it do I feed it. One leaf or two leaf?

I am not sure what you mean by green leaf? Are you referring to a particular plant or green leafy vegetable in general?

many green leafy vegetables are good for piggies and contain lots of vitamin C. However they are often high in calcium too so should be fed moderately.

There are feeding guides on the forum somewhere, I will try and find them

green leaves sometimes are rich of calcium and low in phosphorus and this is not a good balance if the piggies eat only that. You can use the online calculator by Guinea Lynx website, it is practical, easy to use and you can be sure of the balance of your diet. Anyway my piggies have been eating green leaves every day since their birth... or green fresh grass... the grass they are eating now is rich of calcium, too, but its ratio calcium/phophorus is balanced and their wee looks clear as almost never does when they eat only vegs. I suggest you to feed your piggies with the common green grass, also dandelion leaves which is a diuretic and helps in washing the bladder. Keep an eye on the quality and colour of your pig's wee, if you see some powder similar to talcum you should adjust the diet. Moreover, vit C decreases after some hours from the harvest, therefore fresh grass picked up from the lawn and immediately offered to the pigs is very rich of vit C.
Also bell peppers are rich of vit C.
(anyway I use also a little bit of supplement in drops, the one for newborns)

Thank you, this is really helpful!

@Aryel could you be more specific on what you meant? "green leaves" is much too broad to give specific advice on as most leaves are green!

If its, green leaf lettuce usually two medium sized leafs per pig is good or one, large leaf...and no iceberg...romane is okay but can cause gritty white pee .so green or red leaf is best as it doesn't seem to cause this, problem
