Hi all, i have two boar's one is a baby and one an adult i am giving them regular pet shop hay but they seem to be getting through it so fast. I give them a big handful of hay every morning and it's usually gone by the afternoon. Is this too much?

Guinea pigs should have an unlimited supply of hay as it is important that their guts are constantly moving and it helps them wear down their teeth so they don't get dental problems. Make sure they always have some available. There is no such thing as too much hay :).

I have a hay rack on my cage and make sure I top it up every morning so they don't run out during the day, they absolutely love the stuff. I tried giving them some for bedding but they don't take it into their house instead they just eat it so I'm going to get them some proper bedding to make sure they stay warm

As much hay as they can eat - hay should be up to 80% of their daily food intake! One handful is not enough.

they need an unlimited supply of hay ,its very important for their digestion and a really good source of fibre :)

My hutch is full of Hay, well maybe not full, but they get their hay rack filled with the good stuff like Herb hay/Timothy/oat etc and then their bedroom is piled high with meadow hay, that way they have enough for bedding and munching on. Yes it may get expensive doing it that way, but I'd prefer that bill than a vets dental one :p

Mine are currently sleeping in my bedroom, I top their hay up with a massive handful before bed, they also have a hay rack, but sometimes I'm woken at 5am by popcorning and squeeking, once I give them more hay they calm down again :)) I get through loads too but that comes with owning piggies!

Squigles need an unlimited supply of hay. Mine have their cage floor full of hay, plus a hay cookie each haha.

Ok unlimited hay it is then. It's true what they say guinea pig's are a lot more complex than other rodents
