Hi!

I'm a new piggie owner. I adopted two Peruvian boars who are a year and half old. I'm just wondering how often and how much too feed them?

I was told 3 times a day. I give them fresh fruit and veg three times a day and top up their hay/pellets. I'm worried about overfeeding them as their hay and pellets are usually mostly gone. One of them is quite rotund. I don't want to cause him any problems.

Hay should be available 24/7 as it's the main part of their diet, about 80+%.

Some people feed veg and pellets once a day, but I usually split their meals to morning and evening. They get a bowl of veg, and a small handful of pellets.

Hay needs to be unlimited and should be around 80% of their daily food intake. My vet advised me the veg should be just a small handful per pig per day, and I split it into morning and afternoon feed. As my two are older pigs, they only get 10-15 grams of pellets each per day.

This is a good thread.
