I always put fresh hay into the cage, along with pellets and I also change their water every day. Bubble and Squeak love carrots, banana, mango and many more treats. I give them treats
Can you give guinea pigs too much food? How often do you give your guinea pigs treats?
If you guys can help then I would be very grateful! Even if you don't have a lot to say, please can you still post it because I need to know as much as possible about this.

Fruits should be given less than twice a week. You need to feed them a cup of vegetables per pig per day. Unlimited hay and an eighth of a cut of pellets. Diet - %80 hay, %15 vegetables and only %5 pellets

Fruits should ideally be given very rarely. Vegetables are better for guinea pigs. My guinea pigs dont get any fruit.

Vegetables they need twice a day. Mine get once in the morning and once at night.

Hay is unlimited.
My young two get a small handful of pellets once a day and my older boars get no pellets as its not good for them.

Cucumber, celery, coriander, peppers, green beans and savoy cabbage are what I give my ones. Dill as a nice treat for them.

Here are our recommendations as to how much and how to feed everything: https://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk...or-a-balanced-general-guinea-pig-diet.116460/

While piggies are still growing youngsters, any overfeeding will go towards the growth until they are close to their genetically determined adult size. It doesn't necessarily mean that they will grow bigger, but they will grow faster and stop growing quickly sooner. After that, the excess of calories is going towards overweight. Since the individual weight of guinea pigs can vary so widely, it is actually a better indicator to check whether they are overweight or not by looking at their heft. If you can just feel the ribs, your piggy has a perfect weight. If you can't feel the ribs, it is too fat, and if you can clearly feel every single bone, it is underweight. ;)

mmm - I think my Max could do with going on a reducing diet . I may need your advice Wiebke.

Guinea pigs will gorge themselves all day if you let them. I give my guineas a couple of treats a week, not to much mind, since they eat a lot of grass so they get filled up pretty quickly.
