I have a quartet of males (2 are 2 years/ 2 are 4 & 5 months). How much lettuce would you recommend I feed them each day? I think I am feeding them enough but I want to make sure. Please help. Thanks.

depends on the size of the leaves.. but i feed approx one large leaf, or two medium sized leaves between my two each day. hope that helps a little :)

The leaves usually aren't very large. I read somewhere that about a 1/2 cup per pig for lettuce a day but I'm still unsure if they are getting enough nutrients with that amount.

i don't think there is any right or wrong set amount. for my two, the majority of their fresh food are lettuces. benjie has other smaller amounts of leafy greens, and even smaller amounts of non-leafy things. mollie is on a low calcium diet so she has mainly lettuces with very small amounts of non-leafy things.

our savvy vet said lettuces are actually a great food for piggies and do provide a nice variety of nutrients, despite what you sometimes read.

the recommended amount is one cup of veggies per piggy per day, as a guide. i probably don't feed quite this amount to be honest. you could probably feed a medium leaf to each piggy and that would be a nice amount. don't worry about getting it spot on :)

Thanks all for the replies. I feed them green leaf lettuce 5 times a week and kale 2 times a week and mix in oranges 2 times a week and other veggies with the lettuce such as celery, zuchinni, and bell peppers a few times a week as well.
